While my next adventure to Prague is still a few days away (and oh, am I looking forward to sharing that with you next week!), this week has been all about deeply appreciating the present moment here in Amsterdam, and reinforcing the simple, powerful rituals that keep me grounded. In our bustling lives, it’s easy to get swept away. But I’ve found that my rituals – big or small – are my anchors. They’re the consistent threads that weave through my week, bringing peace, focus, and a sense of purpose. My sacred mornings: An Amsterdam start You’ve seen snippets of my morning routine, and truly, it’s non-negotiable for me. Whether I’m facing a full day of creative work or a relaxed Amsterdam weekend, how I start my day dictates its entire rhythm. My consistent morning rituals include: Hydration First: A large glass of water, always before coffee or tea. It's a simple act that signals to my body: "We're awake, we're refreshed, we're ready." 5 Minutes of Stillness: A quick meditation or simply mindful breathing. I find a quiet spot in my apartment, sometimes looking out at the waking city, and just be. It’s amazing how this tiny pause grounds me for the hours ahead. Nourishing Breakfast: Fueling my body with a vibrant, healthy meal. It’s an act of self-love, ensuring I have sustained energy without the midday crash. Sustainable style: Dressing with intention My passion for fashion is deeply intertwined with my values, especially sustainability. The "Prep & Pamper" Day: My Thursday Reset Thursdays are my dedicated "Prep & Pamper" days – my mini-reset before the weekend rush. It’s about taking intentional time to nourish both my outer and inner self, setting the stage for a strong finish to the workweek and a truly mindful weekend. My cherished Thursday rituals often include: Body Nourishment: A luxurious hair mask, a long soak in the bath, or simply taking extra time with my skincare routine. Tidy Space, Tidy Mind: A quick tidying of my apartment. A clean environment always helps me think more clearly. Weekend Intentions: A session with my journal, reflecting on the week's accomplishments and gently planning a few intentions for the upcoming weekend – perhaps a long walk, a coffee with a friend, or diving into a new book. Embracing the offline weekend: My digital detox And as the week culminates, my absolute favorite ritual kicks in: the Weekend Digital Detox. After a week filled with connection, creation, and sharing online, consciously unplugging is my ultimate act of self-love. It’s about making a deliberate choice to swap screen time for serenity. It means choosing: Real pages over endless scrolling. Warm conversations over digital notifications. Quiet contemplation over constant stimulation. It's truly amazing how much more present, peaceful, and truly rested you feel when you give your mind that much-needed break. This detox is not just about stepping away; it’s about stepping into more meaningful moments, whether that's exploring a quiet corner of Amsterdam, connecting with a loved one, or simply enjoying the peace of my home. This intentional slowing down is also my way of creating mental space and building excitement for my journey to Prague next week.
